Hey, im a newb to eqemu, what do i need to do to play? what do i need to download and change in the eq client

You are going to want to start in the wiki on this site. It has a wealth of information on setting up your client to connect to public eqemu servers as well as setting up your own server. After you decide which route to take we'll be able to better help you.
