New Character Graphics?

I'm using a Geforce 8400M GS and it's much stronger than needed to run the new graphics, but I can't seem to get them to work, I hit options and all the characters/horses, etc are checked and all the engine settings are checked, I hit finish and it never applies the newer graphics. Any solutions?

After you hit finish and are back to the login screen close EQ all the way out and restart it.
