Bypassing patch trouble
So i've trolled the forums pretty well looking for something close to my problem, and can't seem to find anything. I think my problem has something to deal with running Vista, ( Hate vista ) but anyways heres the deal... I edited my EQhost file, and when I go to edit my eqgame.exe shortcut I make the target path "C:\Sony\EverQuest\eqgame.exe" patchme just like that, when I click apply it automatically removes the " marks from the target path, autmatically making the target path look like this C:\Sony\EverQuest\eqgame.exe patchme
And yes.... my EQ directory isn't under program files, I moved it from there trying to get it to stop getting rid of the " 's .... even have an EQ directory on my D drive :|Any help would be appreciated! :) |
I run vista, works fine. Try this, go into your EQ folder, right-click on eqgame.exe and select send to-->Desktop (create shortcut). Then right-click on that new shortcut and go to properties and simply add patchme to the end.

It still keeps taking away the " marks.... do you have Vista service pack 1 installed?
|
So I guess a file named starteq in my eq directory with the line
start eqgame.exe patchme would work... but I don't know how to save the file as a .bat file... when I go to save as type, the only options available are .txt and all files? please help a retarded kiddo? |
just rename it eqgame.bat after you save it
