What are the differences (non-gui-wise) between EQEmu and the old EQ classic?

I had some questions about EQEmu and its differences with the old old EverQuest i played?

In EQEmu:

When you die, are all your items on your corpse, and if enough time passes, does your corpse disappear?

Is there still a harsh xp penalty for dying?

Are there hell levels?

etc...

For death penalties such as exp loss, leaving a corpse with or without items or no corpse left at all, and corpse rotting times are all options that any server admin can set in their rule_values table. They can all be turned on/off or adjusted however the admin wants them.

And yes, there are still hell levels for level 35, 40, 45 and 51-59.
