Frustration

Hey all, I finally tracked down and nabbed a copy of Titanium, Followed all the steps, FAQS, etc here, and still I get bounced back to the login screen when trying to join the servers, and if I DO manage to get into PQE, I can get as far as creating a new toon, then getting bounced yet again back to the login screen after a very long lag when I attempt to enter the game.

I honestly don't know whats wrong

Ports are open, firewall happy, setup and tweaking for the servers done, upto date drivers...

Any assistance would be great before my brain explodes

Try reading the FAQ in my sig. You are probably running a multi-core CPU. If so, you probably need to apply some fixes for it. Or, maybe you are running Vista. There are multiple reasons that can cause the issue you are seeing. We need more details if possible.

Yours is the FAQ I followed for trouble shooting :)

Nope, XP Pro (SP3) Running an AMD Sempron 2600 (Which to the best of my my knowledge, isn't dual core)

And you are 100% sure that at no point you patched to live at all? Even if it starts patching at all, you will have to do a full reinstall of Titanium.

Not even a byte, I re-installed just in case

I have gotten in once or twice now, but I get bounced every time I load a zone (including dying) or sometimes just randomly. Still get the same issue though

It could be a video card driver issue, a RAM issue or maybe even a bandwidth issue. Try running in compatibility mode from the shortcut (as described from the FAQ link to dual core issues). You also probably want to try adjusting your game settings from the screen where you log into EQ at, and make sure to exit it and restart it after making any changes for them to take effect. Also, make sure you aren't running any programs that might be using all of your bandwidth (like torrents or P2P programs).

Everything seems to checkout, I changed it from compatibility 98 to 2000...low and behold, so far, so good!

Did you read this one?

trevius 11-19-2008 07:10 PM

You may want to try the AMD Optimizer even on a single core. Also, you might want to try disabling the thermal stuff that changes clock rate depending on CPU usage if that applies to you.

Another idea is to maybe try EQ Playnice and see if that helps at all.

deadlyasp 11-19-2008 07:14 PM

Indeed I have Angelox (Love the LAN database btw, setting it up for my housemates)

I'll Give those 2 a try Trevius and get back to you

deadlyasp 11-19-2008 07:45 PM

Still no Luck I'm afraid.. :?

trevius 11-19-2008 08:14 PM

Try going to www.dslreports.com and run the speed tests there. Let us know what the test results are. If you share an internet connection with others, then there might be a chance that they are using more than their share of it :P

One of them may have P2P or Torrent or some other download program running, which would effect your network connection and could cause a problem similar to what you are seeing.

And fix the class name for your Rogue in your sig, please. I think I would have to avoid your posts if it stays that way :P

Lat is at 262ms
Down is 241
Up is 124

And dang it...I always do that...I have a BA Master in English and Communication, does it show? :P

deadlyasp 11-22-2008 01:40 PM

I guess it just isn't going to work, Thanks for all the assistance but I suppose I will wait for an update or some such thing and see if that makes a difference :)
