I am getting the following error when trying to start the world. I followed http://www.eqemulator.net/wiki/wikka...kka=ws1129r222 guide when setting everything up. I am running Vista. (yes i hate it but figured I would force myself to get used to using it instead of installing XP) |
Do a forum search with 1251 (your MySQL error number) as the search string.

double by mistake

Ok sorry about that. I had found one post about the error before i posted that didn't fix it and found another post with an alternate way of doing the same thing that seemed to fix it.
Now the world is running but I am getting the error Quote:
UPDATE spawn2 SET timeleft = 0 WHERE timeleft > 0; But it says no database selected when I trying to run it. adding sql.peq.spawn2 throws a syntax error. |
one way i fixed this problem the one time was to copy the eqtime.cfg into the eqemu folder. out of a backup folder i had made

Are you running the binaries as an administrator? I've never had any problems while debugging the binaries on vista without escalation but it could be a possible issue.
As for your quest issues, are you using Perl 5.8? |

I tried to uninstall my version and install the older version. It didn't work but i am not sure everything on the first version was uninstalled. I delete the perl folder but there was nothing under control panel to uninstall so i don't know if files in other places were left that could be causing problems. The older version you linked to on the other hand does have an uninstall under control panel.

Perl can be a touchy uninstall. Firstly uninstall then go in and delete the remaining folder. Also find any other perl58.dll files check your windows/system32 folder incase there is one in there. Then use a registry cleaner Eusing free registry cleaner will do the trick. Reboot the system install perl reboot the system again and the perl step is done. Every one of these steps should be done and from talking to tomahawkeer on this subject it looks like even the registry cleaner can fix the issue so make sure you do each and every step. :) good luck hope it works

tried using Eusing. Still doesn't work and i think it destroyed alot of entries windows was using.
My control panel is now empty, i can't use vista thing that makes all the windows stacked (like 3d tabing), right click desktop and go to properties and nothing happens. /sigh i hope i don't have to reinstall everything on my computer Yes i already tried to revert to old reg with eusing but i don't think it did anything. system restore was destroyed also. |
So you ran a backup in eusing before you started about how many errors showed up in eusing that you repaired. Ive ran this program quite a few times on quite a few systems and have never seen anything of the likes show up so it sounds like you had/have other issues on your machine. just ran it on a work machine and had 566 errors show up repaired them all and everything is good.
For the control panel thing i dont know why this would be turned off unless you turned it off but check to make sure Software Licensing Service (SLS) is enabled in your windows services. If its running just stop the service and restart the service see if that gives you back your control panel also. Run some antivirus and spyware software just incase cause you have some fishy issues going on. Worst part is trying to diagnose all those issues is probably gonna be more time consuming then saving your files and redoing your system. try running system file checker command for it is sfc /scannow i think that should check your system files for missing or corrupt system files think that still works in vista :) Also check in your registry go to Start >> Run >> type 'regedit' >> hit ok, or press return goto HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Policies\System Forgot to mention also check: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\curr entversion\policies\system for these keys Check in there for keys saying any of the following NoDispCPL, NoDispBackgroundPage, NoDispScrSavPage, NoDispAppearancePage, or NoDispSettingsPage. If you see any of these delete them or change value from 1 to 0. These are a couple things to try/ check can also try using another user account to login to or create another if you dont have one and see if you have the same issues in the other account. That can tell you if you have a corrupt account. After you have tried all these i would have to look around for more ideas for you cause i would be thinking more spyware/viruses. |
