I was wondering if there is a simple way to do a broadcast to the server without logging in a GM character (or at all for that matter)?

Just a simple console to say "The server will be coming down in 10 minutes, please log out."

Yes, enable telnet in the server config and telnet to it:

Or whatever your IP address is.


Then, you must log in using a GM account. Once in, you can do "echo off", then "acceptmessages on" and finally "ooc The server will be coming down in 10 minutes, please log out."

You will be able to see people reply in ooc or even sending tells. Before typing "echo off" on the console, you can type help to find more commands and info. I think there are also a few webtools in the tools section that might have something like that as well.

Ok this might be a silly question but I have to ask.

I'm using minilogin so when it prompts me for UN and PW, what would I use?

Also for username it double prints any character I type.

The username/password field is login independant. The username is the account name you would generally use to login the server as a GM. The password is specified by yourself in the database for your username.

If you look at the account table, the first three fields are your account id, name, and password. You will notice all passwords are null but you can specify one here for Telnet usage.
