Is that where your everquest directory is? You didn't copy that out of the guide did you? Oftentimes, they are in C:\Program Files\Everquest.

my everquest directory is at C:\Program Files\Sony\EverQuest

i can locate the eqhost.txt document there, but when i try to change the text to

"[LoginServer]
Host=eqemulator.net:5998"

(step 3 of the guide, http://www.eqemulator.net/wiki/wikka.php?wakka=GetTit )

i get the error message mentioned before...

Does the user you are using to change it have the right permissions?

do1phin 03-19-2009 10:58 PM

as far as i know, yes

i'm on the administrator account

Andrew80k 03-19-2009 11:18 PM

Try to move it out of the way and create a new one?

do1phin 03-20-2009 12:09 AM

deleted current eqhost.txt file, opened notepad as admin. and saved a new one
seemed to work--thanks for your help!
-----
created shortcut as described in step 4 (http://www.eqemulator.net/wiki/wikka.php?wakka=GetTit)

when i click on the shortcut though, i get a "wait" cursor--followed by a few blank screen flashes--then nothing

...thoughts now? haha...

Andrew80k 03-20-2009 12:44 AM

do1phin 03-22-2009 06:41 PM
