Help Connecting
Hello,
I've followed exactly what the guide here says: http://www.eqemulator.net/wiki/wikka...akka=PlayGuide I was able to connect to Shards of Dayala using their installer, but after playing it for no more than maybe 10 minutes, it wasn't what I was looking for and it seems like ProjectEQ is truer to the original and that's what I want. However, I can't seem to get the game to work using the steps shown on the link above. I get to the log in screen and I keep getting this: http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y24...law/eqhost.jpg Unless I'm missing something... my EQHost file is exactly how it should be: http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y24...aw/eqhost2.jpg Is there something I need to download that I'm missing (the only thing I've downloaded is the EQ client - I played the retail version up to Prophecy of Ro, so that's where I'm patched to)? I noticed this page: http://www.eqemulator.net/wiki/wikka...ka=LoginServer But I'm confused where I even get the "eqemu_config.xml" for EQEmu 7.0? Any help would be great! P.S. How come I can only run two of the newer character models at once? It gives me an error if I try to enable more, saying that my computer can't handle the graphics... I was able to run 3 different accounts of the live version of EQ at full settings on a raid at once with this same computer before. I think my computer can handle it :( |
You say you are patched to Prophecy Of Ro, but the SS you posted looks like some bastardised version of EQ Classic.
To connect to the EQEmu LoginServer you need to install an unpatched version of Titanium or Secrets Of Faydwer from the DVDs, like the Wiki article you linked to says. |
Shards of Dalaya and EQEmu aren't compatible, you have to completely remove the installation and start fresh. Regarding your complaint about the character models, that's a bug specific to the SoD client, (which is easily bypassed by hitting the Enter key instead of clicking)

I don't have the CDs for the game, I always bought the patches online and downloaded them with the patcher (which apparently you need to be an active EQ user to do now)! I believe a friend of mine might have Titanium, but since he sleeps till like 3 in the afternoon, he's probably not awake yet, ugh. *Edit* It seems I can get to the server select screen if I use the Beta files in my EQ directory, but it gives me an error when I try to connect :( |
It doesn't matter how far you can get with your current install, you will never be able to fully log into a server and play unless you have Titanium or SoF installed from the disks and completely unpatched. Even if you owned the expansions and could download them from SOE, it still would not work. It has to be installed directly from the disks.
