When I try to change the Folder Path thing.. for Emulator in EqHost, it says Access Denies, but I'm the administrator on this computer.. :\

i think what i had to do was make a new shortcut from the eq folder of the eqgame.exe and editted to patchme while it was still in the folder and pulled it out

Also, you may want to lower UAC levels in win7 to a lower level to give you more access to your files.

Go to Start -> All Programs -> Accessories.
Right click notepad and select "Run as administrator".
Select File -> Open and change the option from "Text Files (*.txt)" to "All Files (*.*)".
Navigate to where your eqhosts file is located and click open.
Edit and save the file.

right c: drive, choose security, choose advanced or the change permissions tab under the list of admin, users ect, check the box's under all or just your user name.

eqgame for windows 7 not working
 

so i have the game installed and made all the necessary changes needed to play the game, i even changed the compatibility mode and selected 'run as administrator' but it seems like every which direction i attack it from, it always opens a window saying 'please run Everquest.exe'.. if you know how to bypass this, please help!

I too am getting this problem . everything I try says "Please run Everquest.exe" stupid

Example: goto C:\Program Files\Sony\EverQuest\eqgame.exe Right Click icon create a shortcut it will place an icon on your desktop.
Right click the icon you put on your desktop called eqgame.exe shortcut go down to properties Under shortcut you see
"C:\Program Files\Sony\EverQuest\eqgame.exe" make it look like this "C:\Program Files\Sony\EverQuest\eqgame.exe" patchme then click apply.

Copy Eqhost.txt to desktop make changes as needed then copy back too directory.

Don't forget to create an account to use services.

Under options click on Create New LS Account

It's much better to move EQ out of the Program Files or Program Files (x86) directory so you avoid the file virtualization issues.

thanks ill try reinstalling outside the program files folder and the other patchme has not worked ,but could be because of the virtualization probs
