Select Server- Login- Screen goes Black...see cursor...but game moves no further
 

Hey there...

New to the EQEmu thing, but I installed today and everything seemed to be solid. Then, I got to the server select screen, selected Project1999 (and later others to insure it wasn't just the server) and I continue to be able to 'log' in but as soon as I do the screen goes black, and the game seems to freeze.

I have tried the solutions in the FAQ and even combed the forums before posting, but seem to not be coming up with a solution. If anyone's encountered this particular problem before your insight would be welcome!

You may need to install DirectX9c.

No go my man. Downloaded it, and now when I start the emu i get to the EULA, except the second I click on it the screen now goes into a funky limbo of black/my desktop and then another click turns up an incredibly miniaturized version of the client that is not expandable only able to be minimized to the toolbar. Not sure where I went wrong, or if the problem might be elsewhere. Again, thank you for your patience and help!

Sounds like you may need to try updating your video card drivers or maybe try some of the resolution issue fixes in the FAQ.

Are you running Windows 7? That may be why you see a small version of the window, as that is what Windows 7 shows when you hover over minimized applications on your task bar.

Also, which client are you using and did you install it directly from the retail disc?
