Connection issues
 

Hi!

I just loaded all of the files as per the instructions at p1999. Got my account here, set up login account, etc.

When I tried loading it with a shortcut "patch me" and it would crash (generic "eqgame.exe must close... so sorry" message). So, I loaded it up with eqwin2 (patch turned off) and now I can get to the login screen, and when I enter my login info it just says "Logging into server, please wait" indefinitely.

I tried (as per a thread I found on here) logging into tsahosting.net:5999 and it just immediately says "timeout occured".

I've been sifting through threads for an hour or two with no luck.

Any tips?

p1999 will probably never be connected to tsahosting.net, because they will most likely never support the SoD client, so they don't have a need.

What client are you trying to use? When you get that message, it means either you are using SoD or a Live patched client, or rarely it can mean your ports are blocked (see the FAQ in my sig for more info).

If you are wanting to play on P99, your best bet is to buy Titanium and install that instead of whatever you are currently running on. Otherwise, you may want to seek further support on their forums, since we don't support individual servers here.

Well, I'm trying to connect to the p1999 server, but i've been following the instructions on this site (linked from their site) to get everything up and running.

I put : [LoginServer]
Host=eqemulator.net:5998

into my host file. The tsahosting server was one that I saw you post in another thread to check out the connection issues.

I guess I'm missing something and will re-read the howto's a few more times and try it again.

oh, and I'm using a live client. I believe it's SoF based in it's loader, but you would know better. If I need to, I will gladly go out and buy titanium.

The Live client is only partially supported at this point and only a few servers support it at all. I doubt P99 will ever support it, so yes, you will need to get Titanium if you wish to play there.

I am still haveing issues with connecting my LAN to my server.

My situation is as follows:

Got the EQEmu Server running on Laptop. Also Client(1) runs fine, no Problems anymore.

Client(2) on another LAN PC connects to Minilogin and i can see my Server in the selection window, but gets disconnected when i click the `Enter World` Button and returned to the Login Screen.

Anyone got ideas where the Problem is or what i can try ?

Don't post unrelated issues in an existing thread. Please make a new thread for your issue. It keeps things more organized here and also helps to get your own issue resolved easier/faster. It is never good to have 2 people with 2 different issues in the same thread, because it makes them very hard too follow and will most likely just get ignored by most people.
