Map building software?
 

I have looked everywhere for the tools to edit and build maps but cannot seem to find them...

I remember reading about them somewhere and that they can only run on Linux..

Can someone point me in the right direction to find info on them or maybe get them??

I would like to setup a VM with Linux on it and see what I can accomplish with them...
