World

Ok I have my EqemuLoginServer.exe loading fine now and connected to mysql n what not, but for whatever reason World.exe wont load. Ive tried looking for posts maybe I fail at searching as I do starting a server. But can anyone please help with this? The world.exe dos window pops up and instantly disappears.... Thats it, I get no errors or anything.. just up for a split second and then gone. Thanks!

Try starting it from the command prompt so you can see what it is complaining about.

run as administrator?

You can also look in the log file it creates. I know when I screw up it usually tells me what I need to know to fix it there.

Reynin89 09-12-2010 11:37 AM

its saying the system cannot find the path specified... Why would this be? I mean its all in my server folder..

Reynin89 09-12-2010 11:53 AM

Also im not sure how to run sumthing thru cmd, how would i run world.exe thru a command prompt?

*EDIT* I figured out how to run it from cmd. Still the getting the erorr in the posts below though someone please help >_< *EDIT*

Ok world.exe itself is saying, could not find server "root" in config.xml

and in my logs it says this
Quote:

---------------------------------------------
[09.12. - 09:00:44] Starting Log: logs/eqemu_debug_world_0464.log
[09.12. - 09:00:44] [WORLD__INIT] Loading server configuration..
[09.12. - 09:00:44] [WORLD__INIT_ERR] Loading server configuration failed.
so what does that mean exactly? Could that be the reason it keeps opening n disappearing instantly?

Reynin89 09-12-2010 12:05 PM

Also heres my config.xml
Code:

<?xml version="1.0">
<world>
<shortname>NAMEOFSERVER</shortname>
<longname>NAMEOFSERVER</longname>

<!-- Only specify these two if you really think you need to. (read: You don't) -->
<address>server.dyndns.org</address>
<localaddress>192.168.0.1</localaddress>

<!-- Loginserver information. Defaults shown -->
<loginserver>
<host>localhost</host>
<port>5999</port>
<account></account>
<password></password>
</loginserver>

<!-- Database configuration, replaces db.ini. Defaults shown -->
<database>
<host>localhost</host>
<port>3306</port>
<username>root</username>
<password>******</password>
<db>peq</db>
</database>

eqemulogin.ini
Code:

Port=5999

DumpPacketsOut=true

DatabaseServerName=127.0.0.1
DatabaseCatalogName=peq

OPCodePathAndFileName=login_opcodes.conf

You appear to be missing <server></server> and </world> tags in your config, i.e.
Code:

<server>
        <world>
                <shortname>NAMEOFSERVER</shortname>
                <longname>NAMEOFSERVER</longname>

                <!-- Only specify these two if you really think you need to. (read: You don't) -->
                <address>server.dyndns.org</address>
                <localaddress>192.168.0.1</localaddress>

                <!-- Loginserver information. Defaults shown -->
                <loginserver>
                        <host>localhost</host>
                        <port>5999</port>
                        <account></account>
                        <password></password>
                </loginserver>
        </world>

        <!-- Database configuration, replaces db.ini. Defaults shown -->
        <database>
                <host>localhost</host>
                <port>3306</port>
                <username>root</username>
                <password>******</password>
                <db>peq</db>
        </database>
</server>

Reynin89 09-12-2010 01:23 PM

<address>server.dyndns.org</address>
<localaddress>192.168.0.1</localaddress>

<!-- Loginserver information. Defaults shown -->
<loginserver>
<host>192.168.1.100</host>
<port>5998</port>
<account></account>
<password></password>
</loginserver>

<!-- Database configuration, replaces db.ini. Defaults shown -->
