It feels so close! **Logs Included**
Well, I'm sorry for the multiple threads here in this forum but I can't seem to find out where to edit my posts :D .
Anyways, I changed my address to my IP instead of the trinityeqemu.dyndns.org and I can get a bit further. Everything seems to connect fine except for the world? Here is the log file from eqeum_world Code:
--------------------------------------------- Code:
--------------------------------------------- Code:
--------------------------------------------- Any help would be nice at this point. I've been going at this for a few days and I'm stuck here without knowing where to go. Thanks |
World didn't connect. Looks like the address in your configuration may be wrong.

It's a very strong possiblity :D It is showing that it is connected though right before it starts into the "World told us told us to start zone dynamic_01." Which of the files does the world server get its informaton from? Is the world section of the the eqemu_config.xml file the only one or does it get something from the login.ini or the loginserver.ini? Or is there another file that I am not looking at. I'll keep messing with the addresses in each of the files and hopefully something clicks for me.
Here are my files: eqemu_config.xml Code:
<?xml version="1.0"> Code:
# READ README.TXT Code:
[database] Those are exactly as I have them. I have to be honest and say that I don't know which part of the program needs each file. If anyone sees anything or wrong please let me know. I'm so frustrated with this project. I'm not sure if it is the process itself or the fact that it has show me how little I actually know about the whole process. |
Your long name needs to be longer. I.E "My Trinity Creation"
Code:
<longname>Trinity</longname> |

I changed my longname to Trinity EQ Emu for now just to have something different. Still the same error but now it uses the new longname  Back to fiddling around with the .ini's and searching the forums. **I wanted to add that I have changed the Login Config to public and tried that route (I saw public as the other variable name in the database so I thought I would give it a shot) but I still got the same problem. Thanks for the help. Please keep it coming I need all the help I can get. |
Send us the debug output from youe dynamic-xxx_zone.txt files.
That will help us pinpoint the issue; World is running fine, it is just zone that needs updating. |
After hunting for the files you mentioned and didn't have I decided to grab another copy of zone.exe and it has got my server up and running! I'm not sure why it would have been any different because I never messed...*shrug*
I am now battling with: Microsoft Visual C++ Debug Library Debug Error! Program: I:\EQEmu\EQEmuLoginServer.exe HEAP CORRUPTION DETECTED: after Noprmal block (#566) at 0x0073A1D8 CRT detected that the application wrote to memory after end of heap buffer. (Press Retry to debug the application) I'm not the only one to experience this though, so it's just a matter of digging through some posts and finding one that has a solution in it. Thanks for the help getting me this far! |

I ended up changing my info to the emuserver accoutns and I haven't had any troubles since. I have been in messing around with the GM commands and trying to become familiar with the database tables.
I am stuck right now at figuring out how to create my own custom zone. I want to take a current zone and create a copy of it with my own name and npc's. I have added the zone into the database already I just need to find where the information is for the actual zone (layout, objects, etc..). I figured if I can just find the codecay file and copy it's contents to my zone file I can then modify it to be my own. If anyone can point me in the right direction for that I would appreciate it. Also thanks again for all the help getting my server set up! I can't believe it was just a bad zone.exe file I had after all that messing around with the .xml and .ini files. |
