Unable to connect.
I've read through the forums but can't seem to find a fix for the problem I'm having. I can connect to the login server without any issues, I can see the server list but when I select one and try and enter it, I get booted back to the login screen.
Below is the DBG produced when I try and login: Code:
2010-12-13 10:34:06 Starting EverQuest (Build Oct 31 2005 10:33:37) |
Change the name of your eqclient.ini to something like eqclient.backup and then try and log in maybe.

Not sure what caused this:
Code:
2010-12-13 10:34:38 *** ERROR: WorldAuthenticate. My message arrival was NULL, the net has been shutdown. Is your eqhost.txt set to use port 5998 or 5999? It should be 5998, since you are running Titanium. For playing, you don't need to do any special port setting stuff on your router, so I would recommend you remove any special settings you made on there. Check and make sure you don't have the router set to port forward any of the ports that EQEmu uses, such as 5998 or 9000 (including range forwarding like 5000-10000 that would encompass either ports). If you are running Windows 7, make sure to try disabling your windows firewall and see what happens. |
Thanks for the response. Haven't made any headway on this yet.
I'm downloading the steam version of SoD at the moment to see if that'll make any difference. Reinstalled everything to make sure it wasn't a bad install. Getting the same error. It flashes then shoots me back to logon screen when I select any of the servers. Removed all the firewalls, any port forwarding. Booted with safe mode + Networking, still no luck. |
Update.
So, steam finished it's download and I tried connecting via the SoD(UF) client. Upon logging into the server list (using 5999), I get a full list of servers but it tells me I have 0 of 0 expansions. Attempting to log into 1999 server freezes the program, the DBG just stops at Authenticating World, though if anyone wants to see it I'm happy to post it. Attempting to log into EZ server gets me through to a bugged out character creator (Presuming I'm missing some files + have the wrong client). However, it's interesting that it allows me to log into the server and loads up the character creator. I had presumed that it was some sort of connection issue with my previous install but that no longer seems likely. Again, any help would be much appreciated. |
Well, connecting to Project1999 with anything but Titanium is iffy at best. It only supports that client.
