Server "falls" out of eqemulator.net LS server list...
Hi-
I'm having an issue with my server where it will fall out of the eqemulator.net LS "Server List" every few days. The server appears to be working just fine and nothing in the logs indicates to me there is/was a problem. The only way I become aware of the issue is when I go to play and the server is not in list of available servers... I've been trying to search around for this issue but I can't find anything. I'm wondering if there is a "Keep-alive" check that I haven't configured or something along those lines? A simple restart ./stop and ./start of the server gets it back in to the list and it plays great for 3-5 days... Any ideas? Thanks!! Matt |
I dunno if maybe you're having the same issue as in this thread:

Linux servers will only try to reconnect to the LS so many times before they give up trying to connect for good and will require a restart to get back on the Login Server List.
So, if the LS has issues and your server can't reach it, or if your ISP/connectivity has issues and your server can't reach the LS, it will eventually just stay off of the list. Generally, it can be due to ISP maintenance that brings your connection down for a few minutes in the middle of the night, or at least that is what causes it on my server from time to time. If the connection hit is only brief, normally it should reconnect again just fine. Also, yeah, your issue is very likely related to the thread that Chanus linked. I just figured a bit more info might be useful for reference. |
