There are dozens of servers, so it is unlikely they would ever all be down at once. If you see a blank server-list, then there is an issue on your end. It can be a port issue, or maybe the wrong/patched client.

so when i install the Platinum, do i need to install all of the expansions, or just some of them? i configured my router properly for the Host=login.eqemulator.net:5998 so don;t think its that.

and for the patching part i just use EQemu to chose the server and patch it itself. when i log in i don;t get any error message if i put in the wrong user/pass. So am i on the right port? and is there different version of platinum? =)

Platinum is not supported by EQEmu. See the guide for the list of compatible clients:

n/m, fixed. It reverted to 5998 after I shutdown my computer last night.
