seeds of destruction

Well i needed a new copy of SOD. i thought i found a copy on amazon.com. i downloaded it. it doesnt seem to have everything in it. i mean its only 600mb when my last download from steam sod was over 6gb. God is there a way to get a fresh copy of sod anymore.

I'm going to guess that once you run it, it patches/downloads the rest from the Sony servers.

yep as soon as i ran it started patching. one thing i was wandering is. i have a steam sod copy before they started adding stuff to it. my problem is i dont think its a freash copy meaning i have changed it to play on some server not making a backup on my pc. and the backup that i did have died when my external hd fell off my desk.

i guess im going to need to look harder for a copy.

The one from Steam is probably the closest you will get to a legit copy.
It does come missing some files, but if you have a "sony patched" copy
off to the side somewhere, you can get the missing files from there.
I downloaded Steam's version, but immediately backed it up on a couple
of dvd's. (not letting it get patched).
The missing files, you can get from a patched version. (meaning, after
you back up the original download, patch in to sony for the files)

My running copies of SoD and UF are so Frankensteined and customized I wouldn't know where to begin to virginize them. Thankfully I do have a backup copy of SoD and UF from Steam.

It's a shame that Sony actually charges for the copies of the client, especially when it's electronically distributed; otherwise it wouldn't be so difficult for people to find. Or I wish there were rules/laws for public distribution when a particular version of a game is no longer published.

The way it stands now I've just been more diligent about acquiring every copy of the game I can when it's released off of Steam, you just never know what files you'll need from copy to copy.
