not responding message
 

everytime i try to connect to a emu server the screen goes black and i get a not responding message...I am running windows 7 and the only thing i can think of is im running an up to date version of underfoot

If you patched to Live, then yes you will probably be unable to connect to most servers and the ones you can are probably going to be unplayable on that client. You can check the compatible client version list here:

OK ... so I am having a similar issue, however, I did not patch to live, and I am running Windows XP. I get to server select, click the one I want, click play and ... black screen.. not responding.

You may want to check the FAQ in my sig about possible port issues when you are trying to connect. Could be something with your router config, network connection or firewall.
