Crash upon character load
I used to play EQEmu and a fair few servers in the past, mostly THF, EZ and Akka's.
On a whim I decided to start playing again today since I now have time to do it... but I've run into a problem. I can log into the servers fine, my characters are all still there as well in the selection screen... however when I try to load a character the game loads for about 1-2 seconds and then freezes. Windows just says 'not responding'. I've tried this across several servers, so it's definitely a problem with the client. Worth noting I guess that I'm using the EQEmu Launcher to start, since it patches for specific servers. Though IIRC even if some files were wrong cross servers it should just display dodgy missing textures and such, not a complete freeze. Sys Specs: Windows 7 Ultimate 64b Intel i5 2500k @ 3.3 Nvidia GTX 570 12gb ddr3 1333 (which I should note the client only detects as 4gb) I have updated my OS since I last played the game, and I'm using the same installation as before. Oh, I'm using Seeds of Destruction client as well. I might just try reinstalling if no one has any obvious suggestions. [EDIT] Forgot to mention it tells me I own 0 of 0 expansions in the server list, which I find a bit strange. It used to display all of them. Didn't stop me from joining servers, but maybe that's why I freeze on game-load. |

The Launcher does create a backup folder within the directory you have launched the program. Restore your files and don't use it. Let me know if that helps. |

On a sidenote it's a shame you discontinued the Launcher. It was always incredibly useful for people like me who play multiple servers. |

http://moestaverne.com/ It will make sense. Considering the new client builds, there isn't anything to identify Underfoot in the Launcher, that alone renders it useless to me and players. It needs client-build recognition instead of manual select, which has been a big culprit for many players and issues that arise. Rumzuck has been concentrating on other things in life and I can't expect him to pick the project back up. |
Fixed it by reinstalling.
