LAN Login Issues
So I'm trying to allow other computers on the LAN to connect to the local server. I can log in to the game using the PC that the server is running on, but not any others on the network. Using minilogin, I have set up accounts for the other PC's and their IP addresses.
On the non-server machines, I can log in, and see the server. Server machine see's the login and everything looks just the same as I was logging in from the server machine. When I click play, I go to a black screen, then eventually back out to the login screen. It seems like it is loosing connection to the server when I hit play. config files are set to 127.0.0.1. I've tried changing this to the generic LAN IP, but then I can not launch the server. Any suggestions? |
Ok so after trying to re-create what happens on the non-server machine...on the server machine....no matter what login information I use I go to the same account. Placing "192.168.1.4" (server-machine IP) into the server machine eqhost.txt file it recreates the issue I'm having on the non-server machine. It recognizes the connection, but when I hit play, world.exe doesn't see it. I feel like this is something simple, but I cant seem to narrow it down.

must use a router so each computer has a different ip address or goto control pannel network and config a unique ip address for each computer.
you'll have to open up firewall or open up port setting to pass through the firewall Code:
Only If using Winxp: Click on url and follow Vales guide http://www.eqemulator.org/forums/showthread.php?t=29043 and Good Luck! Start at Step # 1 - #3 if you have not downloaded the server files.
