Quick one - Spell names .. when they come up as "unknown" is that the spells.txt not having a listing for it? or the server being out of date?

Where is the "unknown" happening? server side or client?

Where is the refernace listing missing? a table in the DB ? if so which?

The information displayed on your client comes from the spells_us.txt file and dbstr_us.txt file. If the name says unknown then you're probably missing something in the spell file, if the effects say unknown then your dbstr file is probably broken.

thank you.. do most clients typically use the default box install Spells_us.txt or its server specific?

Almost always server specific. If the server has a website they will generally provide links to the spell file there.
