Hey guys im new to this eq host file setup. My friend at work told me about eq an wanted me to game with him, an he told me to come to the site once i had eq dl an get host files. havent had luck finding it. if someone can give me some lead way would help.

well i done everything the wiki said but my target is a bit different, i downloaded the everquest f2p off of steam. here the Target of the shortcut. "C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\Everquest F2P\eqgame.exe" patchme

i done everything like it says an still ending up with a black screen after logging into a server.

Please note: As of this time you MUST have one of the follow versions of Everquest:

While the Underfoot reference link is obsolete, the versions of EverQuest needed to play hasn't changed bud.

kinda lost me there, i'm totally new at doing this an a bit frustrated. Been working on computer for the past 2 days to get it up an running (storage). Anyways, i'm doing this for a friend he told me to dl eq from steam an it would work fine but if the version of the game underfooting is wrong why do they have it? so in order for me to fix this should I Dl another verison of the game? Because no one (including myself) has updated the wiki for one reason or another.

Underfoot is still a valid version, it's just no longer available for legal download.

Titanium, SoD, SoF and UF are valid versions. These are not available for legal download, therefore any discussion concerning where to download them is illegal regardless that EQEMU works with pirated versions or not (thus is prohibited here). There are still some placed to purchase the Titanium set, but I couldn't tell you where, though Google is good for that.

The link concrete provided is still helpful though, as to getting you up and running.

In addition to Titanium, you can look for the Secrets of Faydwer disc set.

Alot of people don't like it because its suspected of being buggy, but I bought it and haven't had too many problems. It was also cheaper than
all of the Titanium versions that I found.

Amazon and eBay are good places to look for these..they don't have to be new since EQEMu doesn't use the serial number associated with the
disc set. That is only for registering that copy with SOE.

When all else fails, you can always wait and see if the devs can get the new RoF client to work :)

yah thinks a lot, i bought the tit. set an up an running. worked fine last night. Now it only lets me logg in and saying i need to update.
