Exporting Spells with Heidi

With assistance from Caesar , I was able to write this guide for the community.

This Guide is using Heidi SQL: (Exporting spells using this program instead of the perl script)

STEP 1 : Open your Database and Navigate to the spells table

STEP 2: Click the Data Button

STEP 3 : Click Show All

STEP 4 : Right Click on any spell

Click Export grid rows ...

STEP 5 : Make your settings look like below.

Hit OK, then rename the file to .txt

Or

GeorgeS' Spell Exporter

Another option I suppose.

*Edit: Wow, it chewed that URL block up..

That is a handy feature of Heidi. I use a batch file which does this (via export_spells.pl) and number of other tasks and then creates a zip containing all my custom server files.

I know this is an old thread, but the thing I came looking for (the settings) seems to be in the screenshot that is now broken in the original post. If anyone has the correct settings for exporting they could provide would be a big help.

Thanks

I am using the below settings and they seem to work. If anyone has better ones let me know.

Deliminated Text saved as txt
ANSI
Field Separator = ^
Line Terminator = \r\n

I would recommend building with 'Build Client Import/Export Data Programs.' on (default) then using the export_client_files program. (Copy to your root server folder, make an export folder and double click)

Well that is 100 times easier! Thanks.
