Problem interacting with NPC
 

I'm new to running an EQEmu server and things have gone well up until today were I have run into a snag. My searching the forum has not netted me any clues as to where I have made my mistake with the server.

I zoned into North Ro and have not been able to interact with any of the NPCs. If my toon casts a spell targeted at a NPC then I get a message that states "Your spell would not have taken hold on your target." In addition when the toon engages in melee combat nothing happens.

Any guidance would be much appreciated.

Sounds like missing that map

Unable to test it tonight but based on the tread you directed me to, I think I have found the problem. The database table (cancombat) for that zone was set to 0. I'll backup my database, change that value, then test it. Thanks for the direction, I'll reply with the results once I've tested it. Many thanks.

That was a recent change, database revision-wise.

That was the problem. I changed the cancombat for this zone to 1 and things are now working as they should.
