If anyone currently playing on 6.2, or can remember back that far, can answer this for me..

Does this client have the 'Charm' slot, or was it added after this?

Yes, it has a charm slot.

Charm was added around PoP which was somewhere around EQEmu 3.0-4.0 or so. Not entirely sure about the version but it gives you an idea of how far back we're talking here.
