Playing both Live and Emu Servers
How would a person go about doing this successfully.
ie. I have been doing this for a short time but notice some zones I'm stuck in, as in servers with specific changes like p99. How can I have live point to one version while emu points to another? How would that work? Or even playing multiple, varying Emu servers... Thanks. |
Two different install folders.
Common sense is legit. |
Yes, I have that...
What I want to know is where from the launcher does it point to the specific installed version so I can alter it, if possible. |
I am not sure I understand what you are asking here.
But you would need one launcher per installed EQclient on your machine. |

For example mine is: EverQuestLive.lnk which points to my live install (C:\EQ\Live\EverQuest.exe) EverQuestEmu.lnk which points to my emu install (C:\EQ\Emu\eqgame.exe -patchme) And if you have a special setup for P99 or EQMac EverQuest99.lnk which points to (C:\EQ\P99\eqgame.exe -patchme) EverQuestMac.link which points to (C:\EQMac\eqw.exe) Hopefully this help.s |
What broken said, I am running live and eqemu (private server). Two shortcuts with different names pointing to their respective launchers in different folders.

Thanks for the responses.
How does the launcher know which version of EQ to execute? For example my live launcher's shortcut say this "C:\Users\Public\Sony Online Entertainment\Installed Games\EQLive\LaunchPad.exe" which is in the folder, EQLive, where the live game is played. The EMU launcher is not in the same folder as the game for P99. EDIT: I found it in options on the EQEMULauncher but not the EQLive launcher. |
That is what you set when you edit your eqhost file.

It also goes by your release version.
Just sayin. |
