Game won't load

I followed all the steps and upon trying to load the game (with the appropriate shortcut), all I get is a black screen and my cursor changes into the EQ cursor. However nothing else happens. It just sits there and I can't do anything except move the mouse around. Any ideas?

I should also mention that ive tried everything. Changed to windows xp compability mode, changed resolutions on desktop, updated drivers, nothing works. It just sits at the black screen with the gold mouse cursor and doesnt go anywhere. It's like the game loads but the menu isnt there and I don't hear any sounds

There are a lot of 'black screen' postings...

Without more information, the best guess would be to say change the resolution in your client settings (eqclient.ini)

Some clients go to black screen in widescreen modes.

I found a fix for it, kind of. I run two monitors both in landscape mode. After disabling the second monitor, it worked. However I still want to be able to play with dual monitors.
