quest sounds

I see that the newest code ( I was running very old code ) doesn't do the quest::ding() anymore automatically as part of exp(100). Did live stop playing the sound on quest turnins?

I want the sound on my server. I suppose to keep from changing eqemu code I could change all the quests to call a diff thing.

You could just add quest::ding() to them, if you really want it to sound off.

Yeah. Just not excited about a few hundred quest edits. Wow, I see from giot the ding has been gone for well over a year. You guys just didn't like the sound or did it disappear on live so you matched it?

I just want to make sure you guys don't want it to make noise before I do a script to mass edit my quests. Otherwise I'd just add it back into the code ;)

I was never aware that it was a part of the initial hand-in, I've always seen it as quest::ding(), even in OLD quests. If you really wanted, you could just write it back in.

I've seen it both ways on eqemu. I just remember from EQ back in the day, I think all successful handins got a ding noise. I see the ding was removed from the eqemu code a long time ago, before the svn switchover to git.

I'd surely add it back to the code if I felt you guys didn't mind and do a pull request. but I assumed it was removed for a reason.

I don't know why it was removed and I'm not sure if making a pull request for something that was removed is useful or not.

Always wondered what happened to that corny sound from back when I was turning in cb belts/pads, gnoll fangs, mead, etc lol.
