Nice tip on not going LD when zoning

I notice that if you do absolutely nothing (including not moving your char around) for about 20 secconds plus after zoning you won't go LD.

The Lag bar starts out very high, and goes up and down while the zone populates on your client. Eventually, it will stablize mabye around 250/70 range. If you can wait for it saves a lot of frustraition. I found zones like Velks and Kael which i used to struggle to get in worked every time that way.

humm not sure if this works every time...

i think zoning into a zone and hitting the floor for like 20 damage while your client is getitng the zone data is not good also. maybe using levitate to aviod that before zoning

nm.. using levitate you slowely sink.. hence changing position and using bandwith

ok there must be a trick to this, i mean going LD in freporte? that zone is usually stable..

ok something else i find really wierd. sometimes can't log into my server after going LD. what happens is get a whole ton of unknown opticode blah blah when in the world server , i tried closing my server and reopening it . still logging in same problem. restarting EQ did not work work either. so i tried redailing up on the client and it worked . someting to do with getting a new isp maybe? since its dynamic? ie new internet connection and got on fine

Me and a few people have experienced this on my one server here, and I cannot figure it out for anything. I get a ton of unknown opticode errors and sometimes it can take 5 minutes, 20 minutes (give or take time) to get back in. Perhaps refreshing MySQL could help it out. Then again, I am also experimenting with the source code itself, and for Linux, Win32 too! Could be many of things.

three headed dragon

this is a strange solution but it is working

I close my client, close internet connection and redail. After doing this no more:

unknown Opcode: 0xfuckshit size 0
unknown Opcode: 0xfuckshit size 0
unknown Opcode: 0xfuckshit size 0
unknown Opcode: 0xfuckshit size 0
unknown Opcode: 0xfuckshit size 0
unknown Opcode: 0xfuckshit size 0
unknown Opcode: 0xfuckshit size 0
unknown Opcode: 0xfuckshit size 0 blah blah

until the next time.... but it seems to solve that problem of not getting back in 99% percent of the time. MY IP is dynamic though so i am coming back with a new IP / ID on the server.

lets keep looking for solutions.
