EQEmulator Forums - [spoiler] Support?
 

'Tis me once again.

Is there any specific reason as to why [spoiler][/spoiler] doesn't work? It's an absolute boon for organizing posts; keeping long word walls compartmentalized as well as acting as a "toggle" of sorts for images.

Seems like a pretty fundamental part of forum posting, if ya ask me.

Because the only time we need to worry about massive walls of unorganized text is when dealing with code, and we have bbcodes for that. There are no spoilers here.

I've been building and running forums for ages and have never seen the use or requested use of a spoiler tag. What's the point exactly? Just a way to shorten huge posts?

This is the first forum I've participated in that doesn't support [spoiler][/spoiler] BBCode. Taleworlds, Fonline2, Nexusmods, Paradox, Loverslab, Anandtech, Tomshardware, Ragezone, Batoto, Tale Of Two Wastelands, Polycount, RunUO, ServUO, PlayUO...All of 'em have support for it.

And aye, it's to shorten, or rather, compartmentalize, huge posts for ease of reading. Also saves on page loading times when there are videos and/or images posted in the thread.
