I have Google Fiber, so I'm not really concerned about my own bandwidth. What about the rest of you guys? Do you actually pay for colo or something? I'd imagine having 10-20 people connected to you at a time would eat up a lot of your upload speed on an asymmetrical connection.

not really....running shit comcast 25up 10 down i was able to have 60-70 players and still watch porn.

I just remember chizzling my packets into stone tablets and paying a boy with a mule to carry them to the server.

I remember having a 3-Com lan modem back when I was playing EQ. I thought I was a complete badass. I could play EQ and everyone in the house could surf the web at the same time. Of course if it got real bad latency it would kill my playing, link dead and find your body way out in the water.

I use to use a hamster on a wheel until he died from overworking....
