Hi all,

Pretty sure I'm going to get flamed for this but I'll risk it. If the answers are somewhere obvious, I would appreciate a shove in the right direction. Thanks.

1) Is there a list of current EQEmu features maintained somewhere? (I ask because somethings appear to be missing, and I'd like to know if they're not yet implemented or if it's a bug in my server setup somehow)

2) Running through GreaterFaydark, there isn't a single monster/npc/mob/whatever. There are orcs at the Crushbone entrance, but there's a lot more in GFay than them IIRC. I've used the latest DBAddOn. Does anyone have a correctly (or pretty close) populating world, or is this just the current state of development?

3) Zoning out of Crushbone lands me in FelwitheA, not GFay. Also, zoning from FelwitheA to GFay lands you below Kelethin, not at the entrance to FelwitheA. And then, zoning from FelwitheB to FelwitheA crashes everytime. Are these just on my server for some reason, or known bugs? If they have been fixed, please, let me know the error of my ways.

4) I have a server up and running, everything appears fine. I can connect and it's all good. However, nobody else can connect to it (they can connect to other servers though). I, on the other hand, cannot connect to ANY other servers listed. I am running my server through the EQEmuLogin server, not minilogin or any other way. Can anyone give me a idea how to fix this?

I'd appreciate any serious answers to the above, or directions to where I can find answers.

Thanks.

PS: Great work on this so far guys. As a developer myself, I'm very impressed.

I'll throw out basic answers, the ones who've been here longer can probably elaborate:

2) The Mobs you are not seeing are the wandering/random spawns. They are not in the emulator. Word I've heard is that it is way too memory intensive right now to implement.

3) Some zone points are broken right now. I'm currently working on "cleaning them up". I've currently gotten some of Antonica done .. mostly the run from Grobb to Qeynos and a few in between, because it's the one route I know the best.

Thanks for clearing some of those up Syntaks.

Any idea why the orcs didn't attack? At the time I was a lvl 1 high elf.

TheClaus 12-04-2002 09:49 AM

If your on your own server as a GM nothing will attack you.

Syntaks 12-04-2002 10:52 AM

That's one reason.

The other I've seen is that the aggro range for all the spawns seems to be set to 0. I've tried to tweak with it, but to no avail. It may also be a matter of factions working or not ...

I've turned off my GM status and still they ignore me..

Lythic 12-04-2002 11:25 AM

Yeah, even as a lvl1 non GM character, orcs ignore me flat. It's kinda of unnerving :)

I can tell you that if you con an Orc it says that "Orc abc considers you an ally". That screams "faction problem" to me. Sheesh, how many factions are there? Implementing it from scratch without any initial data to go on would be a nightmare.

DannMann99 12-04-2002 11:33 AM

There are many factions, and im thinking about working from scratch out of the database, i still have a semi working EQlive account so i may do that before the person realizes that im using hers. Also, the factions is all done within the hard programming. So its just left up to the DB. I think i will get started on doing that. check dev forum to help me out.
