I've just reinstalled eqemu after some time away and i'm having trouble getting a blank database setup again.

I am using Minilogin and am absolutely positive I have setup the .ini files correctly.

When I source the included db.sql then there is no account, EQ failes to login after selected the server and Minilogin reports incorrect username/password. I've tried the world.exe flag... edit and this fails on both accounts (eqemu & my eqemu world server login). FqAdmin crashes fatally upon startup. I believe no accounts are present in my db.

If I source in the db from the sourceforge file section then EqAdmin will load (after an error about there not being a quest table) - after I create an account and commit the changes I get the error tblQuests: Cannot perform this operation on a closed dataset..

What I would like is an empty database so I can work from fresh, failing that a spawned world will suffice. I'd like to use FqAdmin because i'm a noob with mysql.

Interestingly upon running mysql I cannot right click to get the create database menu option (I just get a 'flush' menu) so I had to create the database with the mysqladmin create eq command. I am using MySql 3.23.53 for Windows, running on Windows ME. I am not very knowledgeable about MySql.

I would appreciate any help as I have really missed eqemu whilst i've been away.

After a few hours of diging, well I say hours I think it might be nearing midday Sunday - i'm sure I started on Saturday.... I have worked out how to create a user (world.exe adduser eqemu eqemu 200) and can now log into my world ok.

I still have a small problem though, I have resourced in the 4.0.1 db.sql so I have the blank database I desire, but FqAdmin (v3.2) reports:

Exception: You have an error in your SQL syntax near " at line 1

The admin tool wasn't able to connect to table npc_types in database "eq" at host 127.0.0.1
...

After I click OK I receive the error:

Fqadmin has caused an error in < unknown >. Fqadmin will now close.


Could anyone enlighten me as to how to fix this and use Fqadmin please?

I finaly fixed this by going through all the addon releases and sql patches I could find in order, nothing spawns but EQAdmin loads and the world server works.

I'd be happy to post the .sql (2.5mb or so) if other newbies are joining on this release, it's all there except for the spawn locations for each spawn group.

Why anybody from admins do not reply to this ?
I think 90% of all ppl here have this problems.. or problems with updating sql db.... why devteam develop any emulator if nobody want to create good stable and working world for other ??

What future have this emu if all ppl working on own shard and here isn't any 1 big central good shard ?
