well I figured out how to get passed the gateway server but
well I just started a server. it is running on a dedicated i200mmx it has nothing but windows and the stuff from the readme file on running a eqemu sever. it took me for ever but I finaly got passed the gateway server for the internet on my local network (ie I have a cable internet).
I fallowed the readme word for word (with some miner changes (where it told me to make them)) and no error messages from the server (just took a long time for all 5 zones to load (about 50sec.s a peice)) but when I try to login my server it gives me this error EQ is not up to date please runthe update to get eq upto date. this may take seveal times. error number like 1046 or something. any help would be greatly thankful for. to see the error the server is called KC7WZL's EQ test server |
oh one more question but it probly is the same anser as above.
my server is not green for me. I thought that it would be becouse the 2 computers are sitting next to each other and befor any one says RTFM I have over and over. also I am not using MiniLogin.exe as far as I know becouse it is a server that anybody could login to as soon as I fix this issue |
ok here is more info
world.exe tells me this (every thing I seen nomal untill here) Loading EQ time of day...Reading time failed, bytes failed, bytes read:0 failed Please don't make me a levelme server. :( World server listening on: port 9000 Connected to LoginServer: eqlogin1.eqemu.net:5999 New TCP connection: 192.168.0.3:1156 New zoneserver: #1 192.168.0.3:1156 Zoneserver SetConnectInfo: 192.168.0.3:1156: 24.116.238.119:7995 New TCP connection: 192.168.0.3:1159 New zoneserver: #1 192.168.0.3:1159 Zoneserver SetConnectInfo: 192.168.0.3:1159: 24.116.238.119:7996 New TCP connection: 192.168.0.3:1164 New zoneserver: #1 192.168.0.3:1164 Zoneserver SetConnectInfo: 192.168.0.3:1164: 24.116.238.119:7997 New TCP connection: 192.168.0.3:1167 New zoneserver: #1 192.168.0.3:1167 Zoneserver SetConnectInfo: 192.168.0.3:1167: 24.116.238.119:7998 New TCP connection: 192.168.0.3:1170 New zoneserver: #1 192.168.0.3:1170 Zoneserver SetConnectInfo: 192.168.0.3:1170: 24.116.238.119:7999 but nothing realy looked bad. I even made shure my spells_en.txt was coppied to EQemu folder. note this computer does not have EQ itself just the server stuff. I goto the computer that I play EQ on (I only use the EQemu servers becouse $13 a month is too much for me) And I launch EQ as normal. I see my server on the list. I grab the hub to watch the tateltal lights and I see comunications on the EQ computer The Router and THE EQserver all three ports are buisy. for a sec. then the port for the sever nolonger buisy and just buisy on the roughter and the EQclient then bop error 1017 as I can see there is compunication on all parts but cannot connect. ok here is more info on the server digital i200mmx buget server with 64megs mem 6gig HD win98se 100Bt NIC NETgear 4 port 10Bt hub NETgear gateway router RT311 (fire wall turned off) (but cant input any lissen ports it grants all if I recall) Mysql 3.23.51-win EQemu 0.4.0.1-win32 fallowed the readme from the website and copied the spells txt from the EQgame computer to the EQemu. now here is my files I will change the names and passwords to protect the inosent db.ini # READ README.TXT! I know there is a way becouse a year ago I rean a web server off that setup so the router will let unsolisted incomers in. |
A new ERROR
I have a new error the just poped up just after the login servers went down

Don't feel bad, I seem to have gotten some issues over here corrected and then all of the sudden, 'Incorrect Version', the very same you have is coming up!

I think it may be the login server
I think it may be the login server on the newest error. becouse I cant even login with EQ. and people are starting to post I get login error
1002 and 1001 :( I hope they fix it soon. I wish I could donate but I am forever broke :( |

At the risk of sounding overly simplistic, have you used everquest.exe to patch your client to the latest level? I had to after I upgraded my server to 0.4.01.
If you do the update be sure to back up your eqhots .txt and replace it after the update. |

I have shute the server down temp for now untill I figure things out becouse I have knowticed that if you (any ways on my computer) that if you try to get on defunked servers or go LD too many time I have restart EQ becouse EQ grfics get realy messed up. I am thinking of removing the comercal router out and getting one of thouse 100bT lincsys router switch combo's as soon as I can aford to get one becouse they are Way more programable. I am starting to suspect the router even though it is opened up and fire wall is off. |
Ok this is from your earlier post
[LoginServer] loginserver=eqlogin1.eqemu.net loginserver2=eqlogin2.eqemu.net loginport=5999 loginport2=5999 worldname=KC7WZL's EQ test locked=false account= password= worldaddress=24.116.238.119 [WorldServer] Defaultstatus= Unavailzone= [LoginConfig] ServerMode=Standalone ServerPort=5999 UplinkAddress= UplinkPort= UplinkAccount= UplinkPassword= Try removing the lines which start w/ account and password completely, those caused me a problem and removing them fixed it. Like so. [LoginServer] loginserver=eqlogin1.eqemu.net loginserver2=eqlogin2.eqemu.net loginport=5999 loginport2=5999 worldname=KC7WZL's EQ test locked=false worldaddress=24.116.238.119 [WorldServer] Defaultstatus= Unavailzone= [LoginConfig] ServerMode=Standalone ServerPort=5999 UplinkAddress= UplinkPort= UplinkAccount= UplinkPassword= The other thing I've noticed after reading your post again is I have serious doubts your router is causing the problem. Could you post your eqhosts.txt? and do a search on your machine for hosts, save that as a text file and post the results, I've got a feeling your answer is in there somewhere. |
I will have to give that a try here is my eqhost.txt
[Registration Servers] { "eqlogin1.eqemu.net:5999" } [Login Servers] { "eqlogin1.eqemu.net:5999" "eqlogin2.eqemu.net:5999" } and again thank you |
nope it did not work. only thing left is router or ISP
|
WHAT exactly did you try? I was wanting to see the contents of your machine's hosts file. Based on what you are saying there is almost certainly some sort of name resolution problem going on
