Buffs aren't fading

When you cast a buff and then relog, the buff wont fade clientside when duration is over or Rune is spent or similar. it will fade only serverside (see #showbuffs)

if you click it away by hand it works.
if any of you could help out with packets that could show us how EQLive is doing it, it will be appreciated.

Hmm well couldnt we add a table in the db to keep track of buffs so it saved low long the buff was on the player and then the server could tell the client to remove it when the timer got to 0? The server could read the values when the client logged in and if the player got a buff but still had it when they left then the server would save the time left into the db. After he came back the server would just continue the countdown :)

Buffs not fading

If buffs don't fade then...

you could cast a Heal over time...and youd get the hp regen from the spell forever ?

I believe what he means is that, after a buff falls off(aegolism for example) you lose all the attributes(hp,ac) but the buff still shows in the buff slot(even though you actually don't have the buff) so it's kind of annoying because you can't tell when some buffs fall off. I have only experienced this with relatively long lasting buffs.
