error 1017 ...the latest patch version?
 

I know that this problem is beat to death, but I was wonderin which patch version is supported with the latest version of eqemu. the last few days I have been tring to make my own server using minilogin.....Im gettin the 1017 error as soon as I try to login to the server ....
I get a server list and I pick my local server and hit connect and bam I get the famous 1017 error...
I have read all the 1017 posts and done all of the things in the posts....I am a computer tech so its not that I dont know about computers because i do.
So im guessing that it is the the version of the patch that I have....the only cd that I have of EQ is Kunark, when I tried to use just that I wasnt even getting to pick a server, all that would happen is I would get booted out ...after I put the user name and password. Then I patched to the latest patch last night and now with out changing anything on the server I can login and see the server in the list . I pick it and ...well you know the rest.
On the server I see the connections coming in ok...

So ummm whats the deal...can anyone offer some kinda help...please

can I just use kunark with out patching at all? Or could I get an older patch from some where? Is anyone else having the same trouble?

Read the forums before you patch, this last one broke the emu, no ETA

I do have the EQ directory backedup, but it is an older install from kunark cd...no patch

I have nothing in between...

can I use just that install with out patching?

No, last version you needed a "patch before the most recent patch" to play.

Just Installing it will allow you to play www.hackersquest.org EthernalQuest 1.0 :D

Pretty much your without the emulator until they fix it, and as they said a lot of shit was fixed last patch.

The only thing you really can do is go back in time a week before the patch and read the news.

ok thanx everyone.....I used EthernalQuest before and it didnt seem to have everything workin right. It seemed kinda buggy to me, so I thought I might give EQemu a try ..oh well ....Ill wait till its fixed
