Next Release Coming Up
 

We are aiming for 0.4.2 to be released Friday February 14, 2003. It includes lots and lots of bug fixes.

The most requested feature is now in. Yes, Horses work (and change colors depending on your mood).

Crashes are a lot less frequent now. Your server will stay up 2x as long!:)

Database optimizations are in now. It does more in less time. The Memshare plugin has been expanded to include guilds.

Items should no longer crash your character as much! Isn't that great that you can wear your pretty panties now without having to worry about zoning? I thought so.

Well, there is more, but I forgot. Time to go get more liquor.

Will this work with the latest patch that has prevented most people from going on the servers?

No it wont. We still havent gotten the network code fixed yet, and it has been too long before a release, but we do have something else coming out to help with that problem you guys have.

Is this release any closed to mobs wandering, or is that just being insanely optimistic?

Wandering mobs are in now, you just have to setup your grids right. (there is a howto made by Wiz in the forums on it)

WOOT Thanx Devs, I'll get around to sending in some hardware and/or cash to help y'all out in the server endeavors sometime as soon as I get some dinero (if ya know what I mean)!

i heard that there is a completely new quest system, will there be instructions on how to program these, or will there be a program that comes in the package.

Which EQ client will this version require - the latest patch, or the old 4.1-compatible client?

Looks like it'll be using the 4.1 client. At least from what I've seen from the dr versions it uses that client.

I haven't heard much on the quest system but from what I know I don't believe it will be coming out in the next release. I know they are working on it though so it could be finished.. /poke hogie, whats the deal? =p

Did that memshare plugin ever get ported over to linux or is it still a Windows only thing?

Kathgar and I have both worked on linux ipc (memshare) a little..

It wont be ready for a release or 2 though..


The new quest system is finished, we're working out portability issues and trying to test it a little better.
