Just Wondering....

Would it be possible to do the same thing with Infantry as with EQ? Both are Sony products (although I'm sure you all already knew that) so it seems as if it would be just as easy to do it with Infantry as EQ, and that would be sweet as Infantry is a really cool game. Wonder why more gaming companies don't get smart and just let the gamers host their own servers??

Blink......And the world changes...Or does it?

Because they make less money that way.

And yes, it would be possible if you're willing to put in the time to do it, or if you know someone that does.

Hell, if there was just a way to simulate Infantry offline, with bots, It would be a good thing to waste some time...

But really, games like Tribes 2(even if its that old, and still has the most technical issues known to man), do what Infantry does, in 3D, for no monthly charge.

Also, the product doesn't have to be Sony just to emulate, and being a SOE title doesn't make it any easier to emulate. I think it all depends on the community that wants to emulate it.

And of all the MMORPG emulations out there, excluding UO, I think its safe to say that the EQemu team has done the most work in an emulation product, to date.

I wouldn't say we have done the most work in emulation. I would say we are far from that.

Then who has?

Probably EthernalQuest.

In terms of results, though, I think EQEmu is the one that's gotten the farthest.
