no host was found! getting this message need help
I have set up my eqhost file to read
[Registration Servers] { "eqlogin.gotfrags.com:5997" } [Login Servers] { "eqlogin.gotfrags.com:5997" } I have also tried setting the port numbers to 5999 instead. I just got eqw up and running, it was giving me a hard time to now I am getting this error when I try to put in my username and password to get into the login server. Could someone please help me with this I am slowly getting this all together but I need help figuring out all these little errors. |
This sounds just about exactly like the problem that I am having. I have set my eqhost file to just about exactly the same and I cant log in either :(

Same problem too...
I got the same errors, and I've try the two possible ways to connect (explained in the Readme.txt), and always the same errors...
Please someone, take a few minutes to help us, because you are the only ones that can help us. Thanks in advance, and sorry for my poor english :) Orion Belzelius |
eqhosts.txt
-- [Registration Servers] { "eqlogin.gotfrags.com:5999" } [Login Servers] { "eqlogin.gotfrags.com:5999" } Db.ini -- # READ README.TXT! [Database] host=localhost user=************ password=*********** database=eq -- loginserver.ini --[LoginServer] loginserver=eqlogin.gotfrags.com worldname=Marvin's Server 2.6 locked=false account=************These are the valid Gotfrags logins password=************These are the valid Gotfrags logins worldaddress=192.168.0.6 loginport=5999 And this works fine for me ....... Feel free to copy these setting as I can confirm they work |
Gotfrags loginserver is 5999. use that in eqhost.txt and loginport=

A Way to Fix "No Host Error" eqhost.txt
I have noticed that there are many people that receive the following type of error(somthing that resembles the following):
No Host was Found! Please make sure eqhost.txt is in your Everquest Directory..... Well I have found a way to fix this so far, though I cannot guarantee it will work for everyone... In place of the whole [Registered User] and all that stuff in the readme setup for eqhost.txt.... just have the following(when using localhost/minilogin) localhost 5999 This is because the original Everquest eqhost.txt looks like this: chat.everquest.com 5999 This has appered to fix the problem and is a lot shorter than the whole 9 Line bit in the REadme file...its been working for me so far :) Medivh Keeper of Secrets medivh@aol.com |
This is a very old thread.
Always use the current eqhost.txt found at http://www.eqemu.net/eqhost.txt |
