1017 Error even though eqemu patch works
Please, I run WinME and have a decent system.
I don't have LoY though. I run the EQEmu patch, it downloads a bunch of stuff, says I'm good to go, and I use eqw to get on and I keep getting the 1017 error...everyone says the solution is eqemu patch but that doesn't work even though it runs fine. Are there ANY other solutions or am i screwed? |
Ya your screwed ive been tring to find a strat answer to the 1017 proplem and as far as i can tell you the solution is to use emu patch
it kind of funny if it dont work then your doing somthing wrong thay say.. like my proplem i cant get an answer too how do i fix the file not found error when i run the patcher it looks on my hard drive for Patchsrv.dat but there is no suck file on th HD now thay have yet to give ma a strat answer lol..... good luck |
Don't use EQW. It doesn't work with the current version.

Use:
"path of everquest folder\eqgame.exe" patchme format to open EQ up for play |
hmm
I tried the patchme method, clicked play, and it still kicked me back to the 1017 thing, so I don't know what to try now. Oh well maybe there will be a universal fix for it sometime soon. Thanks

Sounds like the patcher downloaded the files to the wrong folder. Try uninstalling the patcher (using the add/remove programs) and reinstalling it making sure that you install it in to your EQ folder (not the default). Then run the patcher again.

possible 1017 fix....
I was getting 1017 error on one of my machines because password was too long, it runs win2k.
The other 2 that get 1017 are winXP machines , and I believe it's just XP doesn't like the emulator. |
