Hey! The login screen!*crash* No wait. Thats my desktop. Um.
 

Ok, here is what is happening. I can get as far as the login screen, but when i select a server, I crash to the desktop. I have truly done everything, from running the eqemu patch, to changing the eqhost.txt file, to running eqwindows.

When I run eqemu, I get a long missing file list, like this :arrow:

Then like i say, I get to the login server, and I select one, and after sitting through the wacky game load screen, I end up crashing to desktop where I should be going right into the world.

I have tried repeating all of the steps i know how to repeat, reinstalling and everything, but nothing has worked yet. I am sure that that those missing files are the problem, but i dont know how to fix it, or get them, which is why I post here. I appreciate and thank you for any help you give, in advance. If you need more info than I have given, I'd be happy to provide it, as I reeeeeely :!: want to play this game.

*update*

I went back and finished up some downloads that apparantly had stopped halfway through with FlashGet, and after I re patched, all of the missing file messages dissapeared, minus one (Missing File: discard.log) and I was finally able to create a character. I went through the process, and upon clicking the final button and assuming i was entering the world, it took me back to damned destop again. I tried it again, and I couldnt go back to the character selection, and it just crashes to the desktop immediately after the world loading screen.

It works. hal-e-Julia. And without a stitch of help, lol. In case you are wondering, I cant tell you what I did. Finally after trying it a whole bunch of times, I got EQWindows to work for me... just dont give up faith that this works, because it does. I also have XP, so dont let that discourage you either.

you have to install the patcher to the everquest directory
