Merthville server...
 

Is run by a bunch of immature children. Orpheal is a nice person but here is what happened to me earlier:

I logon to the server and ask if it is Legit or not and they say Non-Legit. I say ok well I am gonna logoff and try to find an open legit one since most are down at the moment. They took it that I thought Legit was better than non (which is my humble honest opinion) and when I couldnt find a good legit server I logged back on there.

Once I am on and get myself all uber'd up I go insta link dead and come back on with no privs. I ask Orpheal (the only GM on at the time) and he doesnt know. So it musta been someone on the server. Then they boot me off and set me back to level 1. At this point I am level 1 legit on a non legit server. Now I dont mind this but the fact is that the only reason they did this is because I said I preferred legit over non. Then what happens is I get chain killed over and over and over and over until i finally just hit /q

So whoever was doing that to me on Mertville server I suggest you act mature. This isnt some game here (wait nevermind) but you should take your position with responsibility and not act childish if someone doesnt agree with you.

Just a warning to those who play.

Same thing happened to me on Merthville only I never said anything about legit being better and i didnt become legit on a non-legit server. I uber-geared up, maxxed all skills, and made myself lvl 65, then I went LD and had no gear left and am lvl 1 again. Annoying, but i doubt anyone on the server actually did it on purpose; im sure what happened was that make character as of that time had not auto-saved b4 i went LD. I was able to suimmon gear and level myself again after i came back from LD.

It was the gear you were holding that kept you getting chain killed. When you hit 65 then put your uber gear on, it's fine. But most of it will have required levels on them. If you are below that level, it has a panic attack.

Luckily, I only had 1 item on, so it was easy for me to solve. But I did not make myself 65 at that point, and have never been de-dinged back to 1 after an LD, so I cannot eben guess how that happened.

I was on the server when it happened to you as well. Still, that's your multi-death solved, anyways. I guess the rest was just a bug.

no i know it was a GM because I made a totally diff character and i still could not do any commands (such as #level, #setallskill) and I /ooc'd that commands didnt work for me right after that I started getting chain killed again

I had that same thing happen to me I had a lvl 65 ranger went link dead so I called it off for about 30 min and when I got back there was no lvl 65 ranger and I couldn't get another back.

Hello. Orpheal here. I apologize for the difficulties you had. I've been told that you had been a little less than polite when you appeared on the server. I have found out that because of that is why your status had been set to 0. As for the rest, I can find no sign of why. I apologize for being unable to help you, but I'm new to being a GM.

I do wonder, if you dislike non legit servers, why do you want to play there anyways? There are some very nice legit servers.

Whatever you do is your business. Again, i'm sorry for not being able to help you myself, but I don't know how to set status.

Orpheal they lied to you, I swear I was never rude to anyone. They were upset because I said Legit was better than Non-Legit and they wanted to act tough and do that. I dont know what they told you but that is the truth is what I am saying.

Even if I was rude, that was WAY WAY WAY out of line to chain kill me over and over and over and over and over and over like that. Very Childish in my opinion

Yeahhh I am going to probably have to trust Blood_Kane on this one. He posts here alot and well, you have one post. Whatever, still childish of the ServerOps to do such a thing.

The fact is, to jump on a server of people you don't know, who may or may not have invested alot of time on their server, may or may not have had a really crappy day, and really don't give 2 cents about your opinion, and start criticizing their server right off the bat, is not all that tactful.

I've found that it pays to keep your opinions to yourself unless you know who youre talking to, and you know how to navigate a conversation diplomaticly...

Im not saying BK that you weren't wronged, you may have been, but I've had people come onto my server, demand that I level them up, give them GM status, etc, and have gotten flamed both on the boards and in my private email because I didnt cater to their wishes, so know I feel compelled to ban people from my servers who step on there for 3 seconds, and start bitching that they can't level up, and what an asshole I am for not giving them GM. I've even gone so far as to ban people from EQEMU completely who have shown themselves to be troublemakers on other servers as well. I hate to have to resort to that type of tactic, but crappy behavior won't be tolerated on the forums, in the game, or in IRC.

But, back to the point, I don't know the truth behind the matter, personally, doesnt really matter as it's their server and they're free to eject you if they don't like your opinion/attitude.

But, on a point to server owners.
Your servers/accounts/IP's/SERVERS CAN be banned should you be caught abusing players, so some couretsy on your part would be appreciated.

Everyone play nice, and no-one has to get hurt.....

yeah i understand trump. but this was a full non legit server, you could do it all yourself. and I didnt really belittle their server at all. I asked if it was Legit or not (and they said no) so I said ok nevermind, I am going to look for a legit one, they started making fun of me saying "IF YOU WANT LEGIT PLAY LIVE LOLOLOLO" and all that. I told them I didnt have anything wrong with non legit because they are fun too, but since my usual legit servers I like to play on at the time were all down I simply asked if it was legit or no. And I respect Orpheal as he is the only true mature GM I have met on the server. I think he only has one post here because he saw I made a topic about it or what not and usually doesnt post you know?

I understand what you're saying, but as the ol addage goes..

You get what you pay for !

And alot of times, you don't get what you pay for...

I am also a GM on Merthville and all of them to my knowledge are good people ... i play there about 12+ hrs a day and havent seen but a few get that done to and they were the ones that would msg every GM on at the time and nag for GM status after being told that it wasnt going to happen by the Server-Op.

just wanted to ad I never bugged any GM about anything. The only actual GM I talked to was Orpheal

Least you don't crash to desktop every 2 or 3 zones like I do. I have yet to be able to zone more then 5 times without crashing. I have even had two different computers.

Anyways only thing I can say is don't go on that server. Being its a non-legit server I wouldn't expect there to much fair play anyways.
