Problems in the command prompt
Okay, when I run files like world.exe or boot5zones.bat, the windows they start in do not stay open. Running the bat causes about ten windows to pop up in very quick sequence, and disappear before I can read them. World.exe only pops up one window, and I can see text appearing, but the window closes before I can read it.
I'm not sure if this is a problem. I couldn't get the program to work yesterday. Today, I'm using remote desktop to check everything I've set up, and EQ will not run remotely, so I can't be positive that it's not working. But I noticed the disappearing windows yesterday, and they're still occuring. Is this a problem? I think so, because I can't tell if I'm getting errors. 7) If you are having problems not listed here, please provide the following information: a) Winows XP Pro SP1a b) Minilogin c) 0.4.4 [Database] host=localhost user=***** password=**** database=eq compression=off [LoginServer] loginserver=localhost loginserver2=localhost loginport=5999 loginport2=5999 worldname=MyWorld worldaddress=localhost locked=false account= password= [boot5disk.bat] @echo off if NOT exist spells_en.txt goto NOSPELL start zone . 127.0.0.1 7995 127.0.0.1 start zone . 127.0.0.1 7996 127.0.0.1 start zone . 127.0.0.1 7997 127.0.0.1 start zone . 127.0.0.1 7998 127.0.0.1 start zone . 127.0.0.1 7999 127.0.0.1 exit cls :NOSPELL echo You did not copy the spells_en.txt from your everquest directory to this one. this happend to a friend when he forgot to install/run mysql. Are you sure your running winmysqladmin?
|
Oh, yes, I forgot to mention, I am running mySQL 4.0. And yes, I am running it. Although when I tried to do that cmd line that gives GM privleges, it kept saying it couldn't find mySQL or somesuch. Could that be the problem then?
I'll go look up exactly what it's saying. |
Okay, in the command prompt, I type "world.exe flag eqemu 2000", as eqemu is set as the username. (Yes, i followed several of the tutorials here.)
I get the response: Failed to connect to database: Error: #1045: Access denied for user: 'test@127.0.0.1' <Using password:YES> [Status] CURRENT_WORLD_VERSION:EQEMu 0.4.4-DR1 [Error] CURRENT_WORLD_VERSION:EQEMu 0.4.4-DR1 Account being GM flagged:eqemu, Level:200 Database Error: Lost connection, attempting to recover.... Okay, the grant worked, and the windows now appear.
There appear to be some error messages, but I recall seeing similar ones in other threads. I'll go look them up, and post here again if I can't fix it. Thanks a lot for your help :) |
Shadowrun, adding your link to my sig if that's okay.

Go ahead, so far your sig is the place to go for all problems, p

Okay, now that I'm at my computer and able to log on . . . I get to the server screen without problems. Except that there are no servers listed. Is something still wrong with what I've done?
|
Ok you noted that your using Minilogin. On your loginserver.ini trying using an ip address instead of localhost. See if that works.
If not post back and we'll try again ) |
Okay, I tried putting my IP address in both "loginserver" fields. Didn't help.
Tried putting IP address in "worldaddress". Didn't work, either. You didn't specify which field, so I just tried all of them. Didn't try both at the same time, though. I also noticed that when I run Boot5zones I get an Error 10061, and it then says "worldserver.Connect<> FAILED!", which could be the problem. I assume, then, that the problem lies within the LoginServer.ini. Also, thanks a lot for your help. That makes it so less frustrating for me, yet I know how frustrating doing helpdesk is ;) |
