okay, i just set up my server on the latest release, see ppl connecting to it so fine dandy yeah? so i try to connect using the patcher, okay message says cannot connect, see on the site that if you updated to latest eqlive then use port 5997, yeah did that, can't see my server, so try other eqw, and select my server says i need to run patcher to get latest update. now i checked forums i got ppl sayig you don't need patcher use eqfix or whatever and other places saying mention these things i would get banned, can someone please just tell me if i am going to be able to try my server or not and how???

#1 - Follow the new tutorial in the tutorial forum.

#2 - Please point out the post you saw that led you to believe you need the patcher to run or that you need eqfix. This is flat out wrong and needs to be fixed.

i have followed the tuturiol it's just when i click on server to play keeps saying i need to re-run the update program,

Need more info. Which compiler are you using? When did you pull from CVS? What version does your server claim to be running? What does the world.exe console display when you try to logon?

If you haven't compiled your own server - eqemu is not ready for your use yet. It is currently only available for developers and you will have to wait until the official 0.5.0 release. That means back to EQLive.

okay all i know is it says the server is 0.4.4
