Hey guys, I used to play on guildwars way back when (if you remember me). I don't know if you permit this question so if u dont a dev can just edit my question or delete the post.

It was my understanding that the eqemu patcher was down, but now I have started to read that you are using the eqlive patcher to play on eqemu servers. So, the servers must be current client version compatible and anyone can patch and play now (before the aug. 26th patch.)

*edit*: SO my question is can someone install eq, run the eqlive patcher then change the login information and play on the eqemu servers again?

If you are wondering why i am asking, I have been urging to get back on eq for awhile now but my actual EQ account expired (sadly) and its characters were deleted, so I just want to play EQ again!

Yes. But I would advise looking on the board for what version (EQLive patch), the newest EQEmu is running off of before patching live, because, as you know they have to wait and see what new things are patched before being able to fix the latest version. In some cases the latest live patch breaks EQEmu, till the Dev team can fix it.

EQ live NEVER Deletes characters....[/i]

They say after 3 months of cancelling your subscription your account may be purged of data

However there has been no known case where they've actually done that. A while ago they actually stated they've never deleted any characters(including ones you yourself have deleted).

Well I've never checked after 3 months, i just assumed they were gone :-/

Actualy my account expired the end of Sept 02 by Feb 03 they had deleted everything.

I called sony a few months back because i wanted to know if my characters were still there (i had cancelled the account several months prior).. and they checked (they were there) and they added that they do not delete the characters anymore.

Just call sony and ask them if the chars are still there.

Even though the characters may not be on the account, they are still somewhere in the database.

It is true that everquest never deleted your characters because your characters belon to Everquest, not you. They do however delete all the items off your characters after a certain amount of time and move them into storage. If you go back and everything is gone simply ask a GM to restore your old character and he will. However you won't have any of the items he had before O.o I used to be an EQ guide <won't give away my name>
