To Patch to current, or to not.
I haven't been playing emu or eq for the past few weeks but i do remember that eq threw out a patch that broke op codes or something. Now when i try to login to any server (on 5.0) i get 1017 error, i was wondering... do i need to patch to current (i never got that patch that eq put out), or will that patch break my version?
:? no rush, but just wondering. ~Dan |
I had a problem with patcher as well (different bug from yours) but after i patched eqlive then re-ran the eqemu patcher everything worked fine. I would backup your older version though just in case.

the eqemu patcher is worthless right now, it does nothing except change your eqhost file. Its only needed whenever soe changes something

you're a dev edgar, can you tell me if i patch to current on eqlive will i not get the 1017? or is the 1017 the result of something else that isnt with my eq.

as far as I know there isnt a server in the 5.0 server listing that is using the old code that had the wrong opcodes for logging in. So yes, patch to live and then make sure your eqhost.txt is changed, then login and find a server to play on. Bascially any of them with more than 1 player should be running the same version your able to login to. I would suggest Sadie's since she is running the absolute latest copy I sent her. Let me know if you have any problems.

My server, the infernal den, uses the current build as well.
