Wait, so is it a spell range issue or does the wall block the AoE spell? If it's the former, that is very easy to remedy. If it's the latter, I'd go with Steve's suggestion.

I haven't begun working with eqemu files yet but did you compare the code for an item that you know is potion belt enabled to one that is not to see if you can find the difference?
