Why can't login server just have a simple/effective password reset like the forum accounts

Trying to recover my old login account, I haven't played in a few years.

My account might be from a pre-migration? I had a lvl 50 or 51 shammy and a bunch of other alts...

Is there any way to reset the password to my login account without my old SMS number that I don't...
